The Vulkan Prolight is in my opinion one of the best pound for pound BJJ GI available. It ticks every box for what I look for in a GI. I like a GI to have a tailored feel to the fit, be lightweight, durable and most importantly be comfortable when worn.  The Prolight ticks all of these boxes in abundance.

Fit - It has a tailored feel to the cut so it fits very well. No excess material on the arms, body or legs for your opponent to grip.

GI Top - The GI top is made from what Vulkan call Honeycomb weave and it’s their variation of a lightweight and durable pearl weave.  It’s VERY light in weight and it feels very supple so it’s comfortable when being worn. For me the Vulkan Prolight is the most comfortable GI out of any of the other GIs I’ve ever tried. 

The lapel has a rubber core that helps keep its shape and dry quicker because the rubber doesn’t hold any water after being washed. The lapel is quite supple and I find it more comfortable when being worn compared to some of the other GIs that have stiffer lapels but that’s just my personal preference.

GI Trousers - Very light! The trousers are made from 8oz cotton and like the GI top they are lightweight and made to a very high standard. They are reinforced from the knee to the shin.

Branding GI Top - Woven Vulkan patches on the chest, both shoulders and lower lapel.

Branding Trousers - Woven Vulkan patch on side of one leg and a small patch on the upper thigh of the other leg.

Shrinkage - Because of the tight weave that the Prolight is made from and because Vulkan have put it through a pre shrinkage process the Prolight hardly shrinks after being washed so it should pretty much fit straight out of the bag.

Good for - Tournaments and everyday training. The Vulkan Prolight is fully tournament legal.

The honeycomb/pearl weave that is used is very durable (ive had mine for 3 years and still going strong) and make it suitable for the rigours of everyday training and its light weight so is also ideal for hot summer days and Tournaments.
